Davis County Hospital, a critical access hospital, chose Carl A. Nelson & Company as its construction management agency to add a 5,000 s.f. addition, finish out a 14,000 s.f. shell space, and remodel 2,000 s.f. of existing hospital. The new and remodeled spaces included a 25-bed acute care department, pharmacy, LDRP (labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum), emergency department, and a new dining space.
Carl A. Nelson & Company completed the project while working in and around a functioning hospital. As a result, the project was divided into two phases to allow for the relocation of the receiving dock with minimal disruption to hospital services. The project duration lasted 13 months.
Carl A. Nelson & Company focused on local bid participation by creating bid packages to be attractive to the local bidders. This effort resulted in three prime contracts within 20 miles of the project which is in a very rural area.
