Million-hour construction safety milestone achieved

In June, Carl A. Nelson & Company surpassed 1,000,000 hours without a lost-day accident.
Carl A. Nelson & Company (CANCO) begins July with the celebration of a significant safety milestone. In late June 2024, the company exceeded 1,000,000 hours without a lost day injury.
“This is a tremendous accomplishment, and didn’t happen by accident,” President Chris Smith said in a statement, acknowledging the pun. “This was achieved by our team’s focus on safety, training, planning, hard work and attention to detail.”
This milestone was met on CANCO projects that have been and are being performed in the multiple markets we serve and delivery methods we work in. This achievement is a credit to the safety culture that permeates every level of the company, from office management to field operations.
Founded in 1913 and employee-owned since 1946, Carl A.
