In a surprise announcement following the conclusion of their meeting on April 24, 2025, members of the Southeast Iowa Builders Association (SEIBA) Board of Directors presented Board Secretary Karen Wilson with a plaque recognizing her 30 years of service to the organization.

Karen is assistant to the president at Carl A. Nelson & Company, and has been with the firm since 1983, making her CANCO's longest-serving current employee.

The plaque was presented in "in honor of 30 years of dedicated service" to SEIBA, and is inscribed to say "your leadership, commitment and contributions have left a lasting impression on professionals, educators and students."

SEIBA is an organization that draws its members from construction companies, material suppliers, education and more, and seeks to encourage interest in building trades careers among southeast Iowa youth. The organization supports scholarships with its annual hog roast and golf tournament fundraisers. It conducts an annual Build My Future event to expose area seventh-graders to the tools and trades of the construction industry.

Congratulations to Karen Wilson on this much-deserved recognition.
